Systems Engineer – Hybrid Cloud
Location: New York, NY (Hybrid)

Schedule:
Monday through Friday. Hybrid schedule with two days onsite and three days remote. Occasional evening, weekend, and after-hours work required to support maintenance activities and on-call responsibilities.
Position Summary
Our client is seeking a Systems Engineer with expertise in hybrid cloud infrastructure to help design, implement, support, and optimize enterprise technology platforms. This individual will work across both on-premises and cloud environments to maintain highly available, secure, and scalable infrastructure while partnering with engineering, operations, networking, and security teams.
Responsibilities
- Design, implement, administer, and support Windows-based infrastructure across on-premises and cloud environments.
- Manage hybrid cloud platforms utilizing Microsoft Azure and/or AWS, including compute, storage, high availability, replication, and infrastructure services.
- Support virtualization technologies, enterprise storage platforms, hyperconverged infrastructure, disaster recovery, and backup solutions.
- Administer Windows Server 2019/2022, Red Hat Enterprise Linux, VMware, and Windows desktop environments.
- Configure and troubleshoot core infrastructure services including Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Group Policy, and related technologies.
- Partner with infrastructure, networking, and cybersecurity teams to ensure secure and reliable system operations.
- Lead the deployment of new infrastructure technologies and upgrades to existing platforms.
- Develop automation using PowerShell, Python, or similar scripting languages to improve operational efficiency.
- Troubleshoot complex infrastructure issues and serve as an escalation point for enterprise systems.
- Participate in a rotating 24x7 on-call schedule.
Qualifications
- Strong knowledge of enterprise infrastructure engineering and hybrid cloud technologies.
- Experience with Azure and/or AWS infrastructure services.
- Experience supporting virtualization, storage, disaster recovery, and Windows server technologies.
- Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to create and maintain detailed technical documentation.
- Experience working in a collaborative enterprise IT environment.
Preferred Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Five or more years of systems engineering experience.
- Experience supporting enterprise or professional services organizations is highly preferred.
- Experience with technologies such as Dell EMC storage, Nutanix, VMware, Azure, AWS, PowerShell, and Python is a plus.
Compensation
$160,000 - $175,000
