What You’ll Do:

  • Join the global customer data team in building data delivery services that support critical operational and analytical applications for our internal business operations, customers, and partners.
  • Prepare, clean, format analytical datasets for processing and analysis.
  • Build and maintain custom ETL pipelines.
  • Become an expert in our datasets, their strengths, and weaknesses, and write code to pull and verify data.
  • Conduct database feature engineering to support ongoing quantitative research.
  • Work with developers to create and deploy systems for anomaly detection.
  • Interface with data scientists, software developers, and other analytics operations staff as needed.
  • Serve as a point-of-contact for questions about data structures, definitions, and quality.
  • Work directly with Product and Systems Owners to deliver data products in a collaborative environment.
  • Design department-wide principles and workflow for data quality management.

You’ll Need to Have:

  • 7+ years of experience working in Data Engineering
  • 5+ years of experience developing in SQL
  • 5+ years of experience with data profiling and data pipeline development
  • 3+ years of experience using Python
  • Extensive data modeling experience
  • Strong customer data experience
  • Experience working with large data sets
  • Experience developing in R (or a similar statistical programming language), including experience with data manipulation and visualization in that language is a big plus
  • Experience with snowflake is a plus
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and an ability to effectively communicate with both business and technical teams.
  • Proven ability to work creatively and analytically in a problem-solving environment.
  • Prior experience working with projects using onshore/offshore system integration partners.
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, math, or related field

We’d Love to See:

  • Prior experience with systems and data that are typically used by retail, wholesale, or eCommerce businesses that design, market, and distribute fashion.
  • Knowledge of Big Data Solutions.
  • Experience with Hadoop, Hive, Redshift, Snowflake, and Talend.
  • Experience with data modeling to support business intelligence tools (Microstrategy/Qlikview).
