Job Description

The Business Analyst will report to the Director of IT Business Solutions and work alongside a cross-functional project team in the delivery of innovative solutions to  business stakeholders. The Business Analyst will be responsible for elicitation, understanding and documenting requirements (business process and technical), assisting in project plan development and execution of all phases (discovery, design, build, test, release). The Business Analyst will also serve as a technical support resource for the IT/Technology team and all Business users.


 

You will be responsible for:

  • Document “business problem” to be solved and complete current state analysis
  • Lead requirements gathering exercise through Discovery sessions
  • Contribute to project plan creation and assist in identifying phase gates
  • Assist in development of test plans
  • Participate in User Acceptance Testing
  • Assist in development of documentation and training materials
  • Assist with Business user training and IT/Technology training
  • Provide advice and guidance for end user support
  • Staying up-to-date on business process and IT advancements in an effort to working toward increased automation and modernization
  • Conducting meetings and delivering presentations to share ideas and findings
  • Gathering critical information from meetings with various stakeholders and producing useful reports; highlight relevant business trends and opportunities for improvements
  • Effectively communicating insights and plans to cross-functional team members and management, including recommendations (that use analytics to support them)
  • Understand and communicate the financial, risk and operational impact of any changes
  • Update, implement and maintain business process documentation
  • Monitoring deliverables and ensuring timely completion of projects

You will need:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
  • IIBA Certification and/or PMP Certification a plus
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in business analysis
  • Proficient in Windows and Microsoft Office applications, including Visio
  • Proficient in Process Flow Analysis and Diagrams
  • Familiar with Agile and Waterfall software development lifecycle methodologies
  • Familiar with Project Management methodology
  • Familiar with Lean Six Sigma tools and methodology
  • Excellent verbal and written skills, including ability to discuss technical topics with non-technical audiences
  • Detail oriented
  • Excellent planning, organizational, and time management skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Ability to work both autonomously and actively as part of a cross-functional team
  • Strong time management skills
  • Prior experience in Tax, Audit or Finance industries a plus
  • Familiarity with the following tools and systems a plus… Tax and Financial Audit systems i.e. CCH, Caseware, Azure, CRM systems, UIPath, RBA, Microsoft Power Platform (Power Automate and Power Apps), Data Visualization Tools like Power BI, Project Online, Dev Ops, Teams
