The Infrastructure Engineer is responsible for managing IT technologies, leading a group of technical network analysts and engineers, developing and establishing IT infrastructure standards and procedures. Assign work to the staff and the analysts, design deployment and operations of IT software and hardware systems.

  • Manage a team of network engineers and analysts
  • Mentor direct reports
  • Distribute and manage work assignments for the team of network engineers and analysts
  • Provide training to new and existing staff
  • Act as subject expert and first contact for problem resolution and support for all team members
  • Design and monitor VMware Infrastructure
  • Design and monitor SAN environment
  • Develop and maintain Virtual Desktop Infrastructure
  • Deploy and maintain wintell servers and infrastructure
  • Deploy maintain and configure the fiber channel switching environment
  • Implement and maintain a Virtualization monitoring infrastructure
  • Manage relationship with external monitoring security solution
  • Develop and refine User Access Controls
  • Ensure that the virtual and storage environments remain secured and appropriate recovery and redundancy issues are addressed.
  • Own and maintain strict controls on data/system backups and recoverability
  • Comprehend, analyze and research problems of a complex nature; make sound judgment decisions and recommendations as to their solution.
  • Participate in Patch management
  • Professionally manage time between daily tasks and projects.
  • Work with IT teams to scope projects, provide technical input and follow-up support.
  • Attend product and technology training as required.
  • Participate in the setting of standards for VMware and Windows servers
  • Submit, represent and review all network Change Management requests
  • Act as the Chairman for Change Control Review Committee
  • Provide monthly Metrics for the utilization of the virtual and storage environment
  • Promote Virtualization and Storage security best practices and transfer technical knowledge to department members.
  • Develop and maintain project plans for all projects and maintain comprehensive documentation
  • Participate in development and implementation of department Policies and Procedures
  • Participate in on-call rotations including some weekends and holidays
  • Support end-users as required
  • Advise and participate in determining department staffing
  • Bachelor’s in Computer Science, Engineering or related degree or equivalent experience
  • Minimum 7 years of experience with Windows operating systems
  • Minimum 7 years of experience with Windows Active Directory Design
  • Minimum 7 years of experience with Microsoft Exchange design and implementation
  • Minimum 7 years of experience with Cisco Lan, Wan and wireless systems
  • Minimum 5 years of experience with Microsoft Group Policy
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and effective problem-solving skills required
  • Experience with advanced troubleshooting tools e.g. Wireshark
  • Experience mentoring and leading a group of IT professionals
